Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:
The primary purpose of the Department of Athletics is to facilitate the University’s objective of creating an environment whereby student-athletes progress academically in a degree program leading towards graduation and successfully compete athletically against the highest level of competition. Each student-athlete is viewed as an individual whose general health, fitness, and emotional development are of significant value. The Athletics Department takes pride in its compatibility with the mission of the University. It recognizes the opportunity to give Fayetteville State University recognition at the state, regional, and national levels.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to be the chief financial officer for the Department of Athletics’ multifaceted units. The position prepares the annual budget from start to presentation and independently manages each unit’s business and financial operations to ensure efficient planning, allocation, and accounting of multiple funding sources.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Master’s degree in accounting, business, sports management or athletics administration
and five (5) years of experience in intercollegiate athletics.
