Position Summary:
Under indirect supervision, Campus Safety Officers provide for the safety and wellbeing of Mitchell College students, faculty, staff and property through the education and enforcement of College policies and procedures. Campus Safety Officers respond to calls for assistance including emergency and crisis situations, and provide other services to the College community. Campus Safety Officers are assigned to security details for Mitchell College athletic events and social functions and may be required to work evenings and weekends as operationally necessary. This position is considered “essential personnel” and will be required to work during emergencies and campus closures as directed.

Supervision:
This position reports to the Director of Campus Safety and may supervise student officers as necessary.
Physical Demands:
While performing this job, the Campus Safety Officer is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The Campus Safety Officer frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The Campus Safety Officer will occasionally be required to sit, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The Campus Safety Officer is required to successfully pass a physical agility test, and a bicycle-training course to be eligible for Bicycle patrol. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment.
Required Education and Experience:
Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous responsibilities in stressful situations.
Current and valid driver’s license (yearly driver’s history check is required).
Current First Aid and CPR certification is a plus, but training will be provided if the incumbent does not have such experience prior to the offer being made.
