During football and basketball seasons, hours will vary depending on kick-offs and tip-offs of games as the museum stays open later for later games. And stay later for any special tours or events that are scheduled for the museum.

| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

| Position Summary |
Welcome visitors to the Carolina Basketball Museum. Give visitors a brief overview of the history of the museum, point out items in the museum, answer any questions about the museum, offer suggestions of other places to visit while at Carolina and in Chapel Hill. Give directions to places to see in and around campus and the town. Serve as an ambassador for the museum.

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience, including some experience as a lead worker; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Strong written and verbal skills and a working knowledge of various computer applications.
-Ability to advise and manage matters related to event operations.
-Effective decision-making skills; ability to handle and adapt to high levels of stress.
