Duties and Responsibilities
CRITERIA: Must be classified degree-seeking student in a Masters program under the UHM Office of Graduate Education; be a Graduate School student enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per semester at the University of Hawai‘i, Manoa. Note: International students must take 8 or more credits (full-time) which is a requirement to have an I-20. Maintain the requirements of a Graduate School student including Grade Point Average requirements. Be in good academic standing. Football Only: Per NCAA by-law 11.01.3 Coach, Graduate Assistant – Bowl Subdivision Football (FBS). A graduate assistant coach is any coach who has received a baccalaureate degree and has either received his or her first baccalaureate degree or has exhausted athletics eligibility (whichever occurs later) within the previous seven (7) years and qualifies for appointment as a graduate assistant under the policies of the institution.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university.
Graduate School student enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per semester at the University of Hawai‘i, Manoa or for international students must take 8 or more credits (full-time) which is a requirement to have an I-20..
Knowledge of football as played at the Division I level.
Familiar with Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PPT.
Familiar with Internet Explorer and Acrobat Reader.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Resourceful, diligent, flexible.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to manage time wisely.
Knowledge of football video editing.
Ability to create cut-ups and reports with a XOS Video Editing System and ability to combine edits with Microsoft applications for presentations or on a non-linear platform editing system.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
First Aid, CPR and AED certification by the employment start date.
Computer, cell phone, and social media technology competency.
