DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Marching Band Director, the Rainbow Dance Advisor prepares the Rainbow Dancers for performances at UHM athletic events as requested, including but not limited to: providing choreography and teaching routines; acquiring appropriate costuming; providing guidance and leadership to team members.
Organize and participates in rehearsals and performances. Teach necessary skills from the basic fundamentals to the techniques of performance.
Plan and coordinate annual auditions.

Plan and coordinate annual auditions.
Plan and coordinate mainland travel. Provide timely communication to Marching Band Director, such as monthly activity calendars and attendance records.
Maintain conditioning program throughout the spring through basketball and/or other appearances.
Provide leadership and oversight for the academic progress and eligibility status of dancers.
Promote and maintain an environment where the physical, mental, social and academic well-being of all participants are a priority.
Promote and foster a positive team environment, appropriate behavior, and sportsmanship by team members. Responsible for the conduct of team members both on and off the field/court.
Plan fundraising activities and keep appropriate records.
Responsible for performing the duties of a Campus Security Authority as defined by University policy and federal law with regards to the Clery Act.
Maintains collaborative working relationships with staff, administrators and coaches in the department, other college offices, and members of the media, donors, and other individuals interested in the Rainbow Dance Program and Athletics Department.
Maintains confidentiality to include but not limited to information, files and records that the incumbent may obtain or possess, in accordance with federal and state laws and University of Hawaii policies.
Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the University of Hawai‘i and its employees, and the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and of the affiliated conferences as now constituted or as may be amended in the future. Immediately advises the Director of Athletics or designee if you have reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees, students, or others, have occurred or will occur
Other duties as directed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
One (1) year experience in choreographing and teaching jazz and other contemporary styles to students high school age or older.
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and travel
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
First Aid, CPR and AED certification by the employment start date.
Computer, cell phone, and social media technology competency.
or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
