Job Description

The Certified Athletic Trainer (AT) reports to the Sports Medicine Manager. The AT will be assigned to the SC Stingrays, Professional Ice Hockey Team and provide point of service for sports related prevention, care, coverage and rehabilitation, for musculoskeletal injuries and sports related ailments, under the general supervision of the physician, physical therapist, physician assistant and or nurse practitioner.

Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA. (Masters degree in Athletic Training preferred). Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers(BOC). Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC. Must be able to adjust communication both verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide variety of age groups including school age adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Weekend and evening hours to cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events.

Additional Job Description

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
