General Job Brief
Supports the Transformation Coach in the development of character, leadership and faith development of our athletic programs. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Encourage and support coaches spiritually, serving as a trusted resource for prayer, encouragement, and Christ-centered leadership.
Assist with team devotionals, character development, Bible studies, spiritual conversations, or other development opportunities as directed by the Transformation Coach and coaching staff.
Be intentionally present with teams and coaches, when available.
Pray with and for student-athletes and coaches.
Support the spiritual growth and discipleship of student-athletes.
Comply with University, Athletics Department, and applicable governing-body policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.
Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.
Education and Experience
Experience mentoring, discipling, coaching, teaching, or otherwise investing in young adults.
Experience serving in a church, ministry, Christian school, collegiate ministry, athletics, or similar environment preferred.
Demonstrated connection to the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University.
Working Conditions
General college athletics environment.
Meeting with student athletes as needed.
Travel to competition as needed.
Time Required
Standard university academic calendar between August and May.
General athletics schedule for in-season and out-of-season.
Volunteer commitment according to availability and interest.
