Job Description:
Cheer coach is responsible for building, recruiting and maintaining a competitive cheer program.
Job Duties
Appropriately manages the competitive cheer budget including expenses related to team travel, contest officials (when applicable) and team equipment.
Manages all aspects of the competitive cheer program including the securing of officials (when applicable), the handling of all equipment and transportation to and from contests.
Schedules and attends all contests as approved by the Director of Athletics.
Organize, prepare, and conduct practices, trainings, and competitions
While leading, monitoring, and coordinating training and practice sessions, ensuring all appropriate safety guidelines are followed
Establish team standards, expectations, values, and culture that align with the athletic department and the University
Work with athletic training staff to ensure emergency procedures are followed and posted, and all appropriate protocol is followed
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION
Required:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
6 months to 12 months.
One-year coaching and/or related experience.
Preferred:
1 year to 3 years.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
Respectable and responsible.
Competent and knowledgeable of current sport philosophies.
Ability to promote and encourage social and spiritual leadership.
Professional in appearance and conduct.
Ability to prioritize and organize.
