Lycoming College is hiring a part-time Cheerleading Advisor
The Cheerleading Advisor is responsible for organizing, developing, and implementing the college cheerleading program and providing leadership to student-athletes in support of the Athletics Department and the College’s mission. This position plans and conducts practices, preseason activities, and game-day preparation; supervises the squad at designated home athletic events; and fosters teamwork, sportsmanship, school spirit, and student engagement. The Advisor promotes a safe and inclusive environment by enforcing safety standards, managing risk during stunting and other skills instruction, and ensuring appropriate conduct and adherence to applicable College, Athletics, and event policies. In coordination with the Director of Athletics, the Advisor supports recruitment and tryouts, manages program operations including purchasing and inventory of supplies and equipment, and assists with budget oversight and fundraising activities in collaboration with Advancement.

This is a part-time position that works August through April for a total of $4,320 annually. There is also potential for low-rent housing to be made available for the individual selected for this role.

What will I do in this role?
Program Leadership & Coaching: Organize, develop, and implement the cheerleading program, including practice plans, skill progression, conditioning, choreography, and supervision of student-athletes.
· Plan and conduct a preseason camp to promote teamwork, communication, and cohesiveness and to prepare the squad for the season; schedule may occur during the academic year or prior to the first home football contest.
· Game-Day & Event Support: Ensure an active cheerleading squad that participates at all home football games and all home men’s and women’s basketball games (excluding games during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks), including call times, warm-ups, performance expectations, and post-event dismissal procedures.
· Tryouts, Selection & Student Accountability: Oversee an annual tryout process and provisional period, including eligibility verification, evaluation criteria,
communication of results, expectations for attendance/behavior, and ongoing performance feedback.
