This position directly supports our athletics department by being responsible for all aspects of the Lycoming College Cheerleading program. This individual will be responsible for organizing, developing, and implementing the cheerleading program.
This position is a part-time position that is allotted a maximum of 360 hours per fiscal year and these hours will be evaluated on a yearly basis. The pay for this position is $12.00 per hour.

What will I do in this role? - Organize, develop and implement a cheerleading program that will include game preparation, practice and supervision. - Organize and implement a preseason camp to promote teamwork and cohesiveness as well as to prepare the squad for the season. Preseason camp can take place during the academic year or prior depending on the date of first home football contest. - Ensure an active cheerleading squad that is an active participant at all home football games and all home men’s and women’s basketball games (not including games during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks) - Oversee a tryout/provisional period for the cheerleading program each year - Oversee recruitment of and mailings to prospective cheerleaders - Order supplies and equipment for the cheerleading program - Manage cheerleading program budget in coordination with the Director of Athletics - Oversee fundraising for the cheerleading program in coordination with the Director of Athletic Fundraising
What are we looking for?
Educational Requirements: High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience and Qualifications - Some cheerleading coaching experience required. - Demonstrates professionalism and contributes to fostering a positive work/learning environment - Demonstrates effective organizational and time management skills - Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills (listening, verbal/non-verbal and written communication skills) - Demonstrates effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills - Exercises self-control and perseverance when dealing with students, employees, co-workers - Exhibits consistency, resourcefulness and resilience - Promotes a positive work environment and engenders enthusiasm - Skillfully manages individual, group and organizational interactions - Computer skills essential (knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; experience using e-mail and Internet) What We Offer!
