Teaches hockey to students, and provides for the coaching, recruitment and retention of students participating as members of the hockey team. Position serves during the academic year, is non-benefitted and works approximately 10-20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in on-campus recruiting, selecting, training, and retaining of hockey team members.
•Teach skills in a sequential and appropriate progression from the most fundamental abilities to the more complex skills.

Apply Now•Develop and implement performances for athletic contests (primarily basketball games) and other events and approve all performance dances.
•Plan and implement regular practices to include proper technique with an emphasis on safety.
•Work collaboratively with the Hockey Team’s student leaders.
•Inspect and maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment.
•Represent the college by promoting good sportsmanship at all events.
•Establish and appropriately enforce standards for the hockey team members to follow.
•Attend all mandatory Club Sport coaches’ meetings.
•Foster an effective working relationship and maintain in good standing with the Club Sports office, and the ACCHL Department.
•Adhere to all college and department policies and procedures while inspiring the student staff and participants to do the same.
•Ensure all students follow concussion protocols and pass concussion tests before returning back to any form of play in practice or games.
•Other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
•Prior experience as a Hockey Team coach or as a member of such a team
•Exceptional communication and proven leadership skills
•Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, and concussion training certification or willingness to become certified.
•Must be available to work a flexible schedule, often in the late afternoons, evenings and on weekends.
