The University of Utah is seeking applications for Head Coach of the Women’s Tennis program.
Lead, develop and communicate strategic vision, and manage all aspects of the Women’s Tennis program as overseen by the Director of Athletics. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working collaboratively with all appropriate departments within and outside athletics, hiring and evaluating staff, recruiting, develop and manage budget, provide technical instruction for training and competition, and oversee the development of student athletes (academically, athletically, and personally) during their time at Utah. It is the expectation that this position perform their duties with the overall well-being of student-athletes in the forefront of all decisions.

Oversee the recruitment, management, and development of the women’s tennis program while maintaining compliance with
NCAA
, Conference, and University rules.
Successfully develop and implement strategies that promote comprehensive excellence in academics, athletics, and personal growth while also demonstrating support for student-athlete health and wellness.
Provide and promote an atmosphere that values sportsmanship and respect.
Supervise sport-specific staff while maintaining a culture of compliance through head coach responsibility; this includes oversight over the tennis-specific staff and maintaining a collaborative working relationship support staff (e.g., nutrition, strength and conditioning, athletic training, compliance, and academics).
Follow proper procedures with University Admissions, Financial Aid, the Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, and other University partners.
Demonstrate a commitment to academic integrity and the expectation of excellence in the classroom.
Exemplify strong public relations skills with media, alumni and program supporters, and other University partners; which may include participation in community service/speaking engagements, alumni events, fundraising efforts, etc.
Exhibit ethical and professional conduct in all aspects of performing this role.
Show a commitment to creating a program culture that values each individual.
Engage in professional and personal development opportunities to stay up-to-date on personal development and coaching development needs.
Develop and submit the sport’s operating budget yearly; demonstrate effective budget management by overseeing and operating within a balanced budget.
Candidates must have extensive coaching and player-development experience, preferably at the Division-I Level. A bachelor’s degree is required along with at least six years of coaching experience. All candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge and application of
NCAA
rules.
The position is a full-time, benefited position that may require the operation of a motor vehicle as part of the job responsibilities. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of the University-required background check(s) are required.
