Job Summary
The Women’s Soccer Coach Intern will be responsible to assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including: recruit qualified student-athletes; scout opponents, breakdown and edit video, assist in practice sessions and in-game duties; counsel student-athletes in a positive manner; and adhere to all
NCAA
, conference and university rules and regulations, update and maintain a social media presence for the women’s soccer program, engage with alumni. The position is a one-year appointment with the possibility of reappointment up to a total of three years.
Specific Responsibilities
Assist with the development of the soccer team
Assist in gameday management
Assist in identifying and recruiting qualified prospective student-athletes
Assist with designing pre-season, in-season and off-season training schedules
Assist in maintaining and continuing cultivation of alumni engagement
Maintain working knowledge of
NCAA
, Landmark Conference, and Susquehanna University policies and procedures
Education
Bachelor’s Degree and a valid driver’s license required.
Experience
Playing experience on a collegiate level is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of English language including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar. Strong organizational, time management, oral, written, teaching, and computer skills, including social media. Detail oriented. Ability to set priorities, advocate team concepts, work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Physical Demand
Lifting, pulling, pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Talking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Experience
Playing experience on a collegiate level is preferred.
