Texas State University is seeking applications for the position of Communications Coordinator to assist in the operation of the Communications Office. This position is full-time and benefits eligible and reports to the Associate Athletics Director, Communications. This position is responsible for the creation of sports-related content and storytelling, serving as the primary media contact for assigned sports, assisting with the development and execution of content strategy and updating the athletics website and social media accounts.
Will serve as the primary media contact for a combination of three of the following sports volleyball, soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball or softball including publicity, storytelling and managing social media accounts and content. With respective sports, this role will drive strategy for storytelling on all platforms; write and edit press releases, game previews and recaps and features; develop and maintain good working relationships with media; assist with creating graphics or other creative content; help manage the athletics department website; provide statistical coverage; supervise student workers during coverage of home events; and perform other duties as assigned.
