The Compliance and Eligibility Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining academic integrity and ensuring compliance with institutional, NCAA and Southern Conference regulations. This position is responsible for obtaining, evaluating, and documenting student athlete academic credentials for prospective, transfer, and continuing student-athletes within the Office of the Registrar. The role collaborates with Student-Athlete Academic Services to certify eligibility, monitor academic progress, and support student-athlete success.

Job Duties

• Maintain and manage academic eligibility certification records for all student-athletes in accordance with institutional, NCAA, and Southern Conference regulations.
• Evaluate incoming, transfer, and continuing student-athlete academic records to determine initial and continuing eligibility.
• Interact regularly with Student-Athlete Academic Services regarding academic progress and degree requirements for all student athletes.

Job Duties

• Maintain and manage academic eligibility certification records for all student-athletes in accordance with institutional, NCAA, and Southern Conference regulations.
• Evaluate incoming, transfer, and continuing student-athlete academic records to determine initial and continuing eligibility.
• Interact regularly with Student-Athlete Academic Services regarding academic progress and degree requirements for all student athletes.
• Utilize systems including Slate, Banner, Argos, and Degreeworks to monitor academic records and student data.
• Certify academic eligibility for student-athletes and provide projections of future eligibility for prospective and transfer student-athletes.
• Remain current on NCAA and Southern Conference academic regulations, institutional policies, and relevant state and federal guidelines related to student records and eligibility.
• Generate and analyze reports for the University Registrar and Athletics staff regarding student-athlete academic progress and eligibility status.
• Independently prioritize tasks, make well-informed decisions, and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Support and assist at university commencements.
• Participate in university committees and planning groups as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum one (1) year working in higher education or in a role involving academic records, credential evaluation, or compliance review.
• Ability to evaluate academic records and prepare reports using sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Ability to use discretion in handling confidential documents.
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply academic policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to communicate easily and clearly with departments across campus
• Ability to report to work daily, remain in a stationary position for extended periods, and occasionally lift 25 pounds.
