statistics and media relations.
The individual will be responsible for all athletic media and public relations as well as marketing of the entire athletics program in conjunction with the University’s Media and Public Relations Office.
The individual will be responsible for the athletic website to include design, athletic stories, statistical data, records, and history on current and past Mississippi Valley State University athletes, coaches and administrators. The position requires effective communication skills and ability to provide public relations advice and counsel to the Director of Athletics, athletic staff and studen-athletes. The position requires the ability to market the athletic program to various venues (i.e. corporate sponsors, media, and prospective student-athletes).
Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletics Director.
Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum of 3 years of collegiate sports information, media relations, and marketing (work study, internships, etc.)
Athletic background (high school or collegiate)
Excellent writing skills. Assure timeliness of reports and communications. The ability to maintain a high degree of ethical standards which includes adherence to general rules of safety, procedures, and fair labor standards.
A commitment to high professional standards, including professional growth.
Master’s degree. Demonstrates administrative and public relations abilities. Ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with the student-athletes, coaching staff, administration, university personnel, and the general public. Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to comply with
NCAA
, conference, and university rules and regulations.
