Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Previous demonstrated fundraising experience. Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills, demonstrated integrity, and the willingness to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, staff, administration, campus partners and community members. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays. Demonstrated support for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Perform all job duties in a manner consistent with NCAA, conference and University rules, regulations, ordinances, policies, procedures and guidelines. Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.
Previous experience in a college athletics development office. Knowledge and understanding of applicable NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Oakland University Athletics is a Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. Our Athletic Department is looking for a highly organized, driven and detail oriented individual to fill the position of Coordinator for Athletic Annual Giving. This position reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. - Works directly with the athletic departments 19 varsity teams in meeting departmental and programmatic fundraising goals;- Cultivating and soliciting gifts for annual and sport specific initiatives;- Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external individuals on special events, fundraising activities and donor stewardship initiatives; - Assist in the cultivation and soliciting gifts for endowments and capital expenses- Serve as liaison to and work in conjunction with University Advancement on current and future annual giving and fundraising initiatives.- Serve as liaison and main point of contact for the Champions Club Advisory Board and all related initiatives.- Day-to-day oversight of the Development Graduate Assistant and Interns/Student workers.- This position should have a knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment. In addition, the individual will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.
