Position Summary:
The Student Athlete Development Coordinator will support the mission of the Athletic Department’s SOAR program which is designed to empower and equip student-athletes with the training they need to thrive within and beyond the hedges. This position will be key in ensuring the successful execution of Flight Plan, an Alston-funded program aimed at four years of personal and professional development through effective communication, organization, and coordination. This role will also be responsible for using reporting metrics and data to assess the effectiveness of Flight Plan goals and activities. The Coordinator will aid in the implementation of all programmatic aspects that align with the SOAR pillars; personal enhancement, civic engagement, career development, leadership and DEI, and letterwinner engagement. The Coordinator will lead the Civic Engagement pillar in the SOAR office, coordinating and maintaining programs meant to connect Rice student-athletes to the Rice and Houston communities. This position will be responsible for coordinating the personal enhancement pillar by connecting Rice student-athletes with campus and community resources to develop effective life skills that position them to prosper following their time at Rice.
Workplace Requirements:
This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person on campus during both regular office hours, mornings, nights, and weekends as team schedule requires. This position will require regular travel. PerRice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.
