The Deputy Director of Athletics/
COO
serves the Department of Athletics under the direct leadership of the Director of Athletics. This position is heavily involved in the strategic planning, direction, and conduct of the
UNCW
intercollegiate athletics program. This position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance in general policy development, employee and student-athlete development, Title IX/Gender Equity/Diversity planning and assessment, high-level management of compliance and regulatory responsibilities, as well as the development of a positive, supportive organizational culture. The Deputy Director of Athletics/
COO
also serves as principal liaison to the University community.
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience within a Division I athletic department or comparable experience including in-depth knowledge of
NCAA
,
CAA
rules and regulations as well as extensive knowledge of Title IX/Gender Equity.
Excellent, proven leadership and supervisory capacity with the ability to provide and support strategic direction and strategic planning processes.
Excellent written and oral communications skills, excellent computer skills, and excellent relationship management ability.
Sport administrator experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Master’s Degree with 5+ years of experience at the Division I level.
