University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic institution that welcomes to its community persons of diverse backgrounds, in the belief that their respectful interaction advances the discovery of truth, mutual understanding, self-realization, and the common good.
Development Graduate Assistant is responsible for supporting fundraising initiatives for the athletics department. This includes planning donor events, game day hospitality, calling prospects, organizing direct mail appeals, assisting in crowdfunding campaigns, distributing membership benefits and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Development – Athletics
• Assists with all aspects of the annual giving program for UIW Athletics;
• Helps identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with a focus on acquiring and retaining yearly renewable gifts;
• Assists with implementing and executing a year-long appeals calendar;
• Responsible for supporting sport specific fundraising activities and events;
• Helps with planning a donor relations program, game day hospitality and other stewardship activities;
• Manage donation database(s) used within the athletic department and Cardinals Club website information;
• Communicate and collaborate with other departments of UIW Athletics such as head coaches, SIDs, and central development;
• Other duties as assigned.

- Must have high level of interpersonal skills and tact to handle confidential situations and sensitive information.
- Excellent communication, presentation, listening and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks.
- Self-starter with an outstanding work ethic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other computer skills required.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the university, conference, and the NCAA.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Bachelor’s Degree.

| Required Work Experience |
- Experience in an externally focused position and understanding of college athletics.
- Must be enrolled at UIW in graduate school before starting the position.

| Preferred Qualifications |
One year of work within a related field.
|
| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid driver’s license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
|
| Physical Demands |
Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 pounds waist-high.
