Position Description:

The Merrimack College Athletic Department seeks a qualified candidate to fill the role of Digital  Content Producer, Athletic Communications. The full-time, benefited position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director of Strategic Communications and work with the Athletic Communications team.

The position will produce high-quality photography, videography, graphic design and other digital content that enhances the Merrimack Athletics brand and showcases the student-athletes who represent the College’s 28 NCAA Division I teams. The position will help drive fan engagement, support marketing initiatives, assist with game-day promotions and fundraising campaigns all while maintaining the visual identity and brand standards of Merrimack Athletics.

The successful candidate will be experienced with social media platforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc., and must be willing to work when our teams play – nights, weekends and the potential for holidays. The candidate will work in accordance with NCAA Division I guidelines and Merrimack College rules, regulations and policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Capture and produce high-quality photography and videography at athletic contests, practices, community events and other department functions.

  • Create compelling digital content, including highlight videos, feature stories, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, hype videos, and promotional campaigns.

  • Design graphics for use across social media, website, email marketing, digital signage and other athletic communications platforms.

  • Collaborate with coaches, athletic communications, marketing, etc. to develop creative content that supports the priorities of the department.

  • Assist in planning and executing content calendars that promote athletic events, student-athlete accomplishments, ticket sales, fundraising initiatives and special events.

  • Edit video and photography using industry-standard creative software to produce engaging content optimized for multiple digital platforms.

  • Capture content during home and away competitions, as assigned, including evenings, weekends, and select travel.
