Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) or more years of full time experience in an Academic Advising, Counseling, or Student Services setting. Supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) or Advanced Certification in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Education or related field. Five (5) or more years of full time experience in an academic advising, counseling, or student services setting. A basic understanding of NCAA eligibility rules. Previous experience in Division I collegiate athletics and/or higher education. Previous experience with students with intensive support needs.

The Director of Academic Success will assist in the overall coordination of all academic services provided in support of all Stony Brook’s student-athletes. They will develop, implement and oversee specific educational support programs and the staff that manage them, as well as initiatives within the Goldstein Family Student-Athlete Development Center. Their main responsibilities will fall in the areas of academic support services including advising, tutoring, study halls, at risk programming and facilitation of college transition programming. The Director will also work in close collaboration with academic units across the campus and within the Department of Athletics, and execute all duties in compliance with NCAA policies and procedures.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
Evening and weekend work may be required at times.
