Description :

The Athletics Facilities & Event Management unit will either be hiring for a Director OR Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Event Management Operations depending on the candidate's experience and education.

Reports to an Athletics Facilities & Events management unit leader while providing oversight of facility and event staff. For assigned Athletic Facilities this position will serve as the: primary day-to-day operations point of contact, Event manager for games/events, and will ensure cleanliness and maintenance of assigned facilities through active engagement and accountability of contracted third parties providing these services.

  1. Serves as facility manager for assigned Athletics facilities. Ensures efficient and effective operations of each assigned facility.
  2. Manages the daily use schedule, ensure the safety/security of each facility and its users, and facilitate effective maintenance, custodial, conversions, and grounds services through effective communications with staff and/or contracted management partners.
  3. Assist Sr. Associate AD for Facility & Event Management Operations with oversight of facility & event management operations staff. Assign game managers for designated athletics events and all special events hosted by Athletics.
  4. Alongside unit leadership, develops and execute event management plans for all events hosted in assigned Athletics facilities.
  5. Manages internal and external constituents and event service providers including but not limited to Parking services, security staffing, law enforcement, emergency services and other event management related tasks for assigned areas.
  6. Supports the development and monitoring of facility operations and event operations budgets to identify and prioritize functional enhancements and deferred maintenance for athletic facilities.
  7. Serve as an Ambassador for Cougar Athletics and the University of Houston. At all times, in all settings represent the Department and University in a way that positively reflects and grows affinity for UH.
  8. Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
