Facilities Operations is seeking to hire a Director of Facilities Maintenance to support the UCF Convocation Corporation (UCFCC) and Athletics facilities. The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, direction of work flow, budget, and oversight of all routine maintenance and custodial activities for the UCFCC (including housing venues, event venue, and athletics facilities). The Director will provide oversight of day-to-day facilities maintenance operations and administer facilities consultation to the UCFCC and Athletics designated key stakeholders and facilities representatives. This position will report the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Operations, with a dotted reporting line to key stakeholders within the UCFCC and Athletics.
Responsibilities:
Direct the facilities operations and maintenance of multiple venues including, but not limited to, athletics venues, event venues, retail spaces, and housing locations.
Develop strategic and tactical plans and communicate to ensure they are understood and accepted at all levels of the staff.
Prepare estimates for preventative maintenance work orders, issue work orders, complete work orders, schedule jobs and follow them to completion.
Develop, plan, execute, and sustain staff into the Reliability Based Maintenance methodology and practices for work efficiencies and design, through the Integrated Work Management System (IWMS) AiM work order system.
Responsible for the technical planning, organizing, and coordinating of all operations for Convocation Corporation venues.
Plan and develop policies; direct, implement, and control programs for preventative maintenance.
Implement processes and programs related to meeting building standards in conjunction with department managers.
Analyze job and overhead costs and change methods and procedures, as necessary, to improve the department’s efficiency.
Evaluate condition of buildings and systems and recommend and initiate work orders.
Determine the various operating budgets relative to maintenance activities, maintain expenditures within prescribed limits and takes action to control expenditures.
Responsible for staffing levels within the Convocation Corp. units. Update duties and initiative cross training in order to find greater efficiency in the organizational structure.
Assist various other FBO units in planning and inspection of maintenance repairs, alterations, and construction projects.
Accomplish departmental objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining supervisors and employees. Communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions. Recommending compensation actions, adhering to established departmental SOP's and unit process guide.
Responsible for the management and direction of the facility condition assessment system to justify and facilitate a prioritized allocation of university deferred maintenance funds.

Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6)
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience Managing Athletics Venues Preferred.
Experience in Higher Education Preferred.
Eight (8) years' maintenance experience.
Three (3) years' experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance/plant related position.
Demonstrated knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Knowledgeable of local building codes and ordinances, including OSHA safety regulations.
