Job Description

The Athletics Department at Whittier College is seeking an Director of Aquatics, Men's/Women's Swimming Head Coach.

The Director of Aquatics will manage the Slade Aquatics Center. It is the aquatics director's task to ensure safety in and around any pool, adhere to health protocols, and help promote and create pool-related activities. The Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Swim & Dive will report to the Executive Director of Athletics for all matters related to the program and will work closely with Admissions, faculty, administration, and staff to help advance Whittier College athletics

Hours: Varies
Exempt Status: Exempt
Full Time/Part Time status: Full Time, 12 months
Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000 annually; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Job

Head Coach Essential Duties
A Head Coach within the Whittier College athletic program will be responsible to organize and direct all aspects of an NCAA Division III program.  The Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Swim & Dive will report to the Executive Director of Athletics for all matters related to the program and will work closely with Admissions, faculty, administration, and staff to help advance Whittier College athletics.  This position shall be responsible for providing a positive environment for its student-athletes to succeed socially, academically, and in competition. The men’s and women’s programs will be a part of the NCAA and will function as a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). This position is instrumental in determining the foundation and direction of both men’s and women’s programs.
