This position will lead the Athletic Department’s efforts in creating and executing sports information coverage, as well as a communication\marketing strategy for the Athletic Department. This position will provide sports information coverage for home and away athletics events. Responsibilities include game management supervision, keeping statistical data for games, providing updates through athletics web site, social media accounts, live streaming broadcasts, media outlets, and appropriate stakeholders. Directs Sports Information coverage for all Millikin athletic programs with primary coverage responsibility for all sports except football, baseball, wrestling, women’s basketball and men’s and women’s cross country and track and field. Position requires extensive work on nights and weekends including coverage of away events. Will assist in the hiring and managing of all Athletic department student worker including payroll functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the

Will coordinate primary sports information coverage for all Millikin athletic teams. Primary sport assignments for Director and their staff will be determined based on individuals knowledge and strengths.
Social Media Coordinator producing content for Millikin Athletics social media accounts.
Will assist in the hiring and managing of all Athletic Department student workers. Will provide direction supervision of Sports Information area workers and interns.
Providing Sports Information coverage at home events including game management, video broadcasting and statistical record keeping functions, in addition to maintaining all historical records for Millikin’s sports teams.
Updating Millikin University Athletics web sites with game results, stories and information for home and away athletic events in addition to maintaining the website.
Reporting game results and information to opposition institution’s sports information departments, the CCIW Sports Information Director, NCAA, and local media outlets.
Producing Streaming Video Broadcasts of Millikin athletic events.
Serving as liaison with local media outlets to coordinate coverage of Millikin athletic events.
Event Management Supervisor for home athletic events. Will be lead contact for all aspects of game management including ticketing, parking, fan interaction, and game operations.
Producing athletic print publications.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises Student Workers. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the university’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff members, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining staff members; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.

Minimum Education and/or Experience :
Bachelor’s degree required.
Must have general knowledge of a variety of sports and of college athletics.
Knowledge of college volleyball is preferred.
Proficiency in a variety of social media platforms.
Understanding and skill video production and graphic design is preferred.
