Job Summary

The BYU Director of Athletic Events will serve as a central point of contact within BYU Athletics to help standardize, coordinate, and elevate events across the department. This role ensures a consistent, high-quality experience that aligns with the mission and values of BYU Athletics, supporting both internal and external stakeholders. What You’ll Do in this Role

• Serve as the primary liaison for event planning within BYU Athletics, coordinating with various teams and department units
• Develop and implement standardized processes and best practices to ensure consistency, efficiency, and excellence in event execution
• Support the planning and execution of athletic-related events, including team banquets, donor functions, staff gatherings, recruiting events, and other department initiatives
• Collaborate with internal partners (communications, development, operations, compliance, etc.) to ensure alignment and smooth execution of events
• Assist with vendor coordination, budgeting, logistics, and post-event assessments to ensure continuous improvement
• Uphold BYU standards in all events, ensuring they reflect the university’s mission and the values of BYU Athletics

What Qualifies You to Apply?

Required:

• A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
• Bachelor’s degree
• Event planning experience
• Willingness to uphold and live by the university’s Honor Code
• All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend, which may be verified during the application process.

Preferred:

• Experience working in a collegiate athletic environment

Pay Grade:  52

Typical Starting Pay:  Depends on Experience
