serve as the primary fund-raiser for the athletic department in collaboration with the Advancement
Department, ensure the ongoing infusion of excellence and hospitality within the athletic department
and provide impacting leadership for all department employees and student-athletes.
Job Description:
• Serve on the President’s Cabinet – includes attending & participating in regularly scheduled
meetings as well as contributing ideas and critiques.
• Collaborate with the Tabor academic offices and applicable operational departments to ensure
the success on and off the field of Tabor College student-athletes.
• Review and adjust athletic department organizational structure as needed.
• Assess the need for and potential of adding new sports to or removing sports from the athletic
department and make appropriate recommendations to the President.
• Oversee all practice and competition scheduling of Tabor athletic facilities.
• Serve on the KCAC Governing Council – includes attending athletic director summits and
regularly scheduled KCAC GC meetings.
• Serve on the Tabor College/Hillsboro USD 410 stadium operations committee.
• Assign and evaluate the work of the associate and assistant athletic directors as well as the
SID/Admin Asst to the AD.
• Monitor all KCAC & NAIA eligibility in conjunction with athletic administrative support

personnel, FAR & Registrar.
Lead the search process for hiring all head coaches and athletic department support staff. Make
recommendations for all athletic department hires to the President.
• Providing yearly performance evaluations for head coaches and athletic department support
staff. Make yearly recommendations for all athletic department employees for continuing
employment or employment termination.
• Oversee budgets, fund raising, integration of faith, recruiting and retention for all athletic
programs as well as the general athletics budget.
• Oversee the athletic insurance decisions & policies. Includes mandatory student accident plan,
secondary athletic injury insurance and catastrophic athletic injury insurance.
• Conduct and chair regular (at least monthly) athletic department staff meetings for key
department staff.
Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree
• At least 5 years’ experience in athletic administration and/or head coaching
• A demonstrable faith in Jesus Christ
