Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for programs and student-athlete services including but not limited tocareerand personal development.
• Work to prepare student-athletes for life after sport and to strengthen the Vanderbilt Athleticsalumni and communitynetworks.
  • Work extensively with student-athletes to assist with theircareerdevelopment and job search process through individual counseling, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Provide comprehensive search preparation based on individual post-graduation goals.
  • Direct and executecareer-based events, workshops, and industry-specific learning sessions.
  • Oversee the summer internship program, including placement and workshops.
• Provide specialized professional development assistance to Vanderbilt student-athletes including critiquing resumes, conducting mock interviews, developing networking strategies, assessingcareergoals, and guiding student-athletes on short and long-termcareerstrategy action plan development.
• Responsible for employer relations for internships,jobplacements, and engagement opportunities.
• Direct, plan, and implement student-athlete specificcareerprogramming.
• Responsible for ideation, implementation, and execution of allcareerdevelopment programs for student-athletes of all classes.
• Responsible for planning and execution of summer internship fair.
• Works closely with the AssistantAthleticDirectorfor Student-Athlete Development to continually revamp the four-year student-athlete curriculum as needed.
• Oversee planning of industry-specific programming, including on-sitecareertours.
• Oversee the implementation and growth of the mentor program, serving as the liaison between the Athletics department, mentors, and mentees.
• Collaboratewith the Black and Gold Club foralumni interactions and engagement opportunities.
• Serve as an advisor for Athletic affinity groups.
• Collaborate with Student-Athlete Development Staff on NIL/Personal Development programming.
• Collaborate with Ingram Center staff on department-wide initiatives.
• Serve as the Athletics liaison with the Vanderbilt University Career Center.
• Other duties as assigned by the AssistantAthleticsDirectorfor Student-Athlete Development.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree isnecessary.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Prior experience in collegiate athletics at the Division I institutional and/or conference level is necessary.
