The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). Position Summary The Creative Director, Football oversees, coordinates, and plans visual content, including graphic & digital design, creative video, photography, and social media. Their primary goal is to enhance the program’s national reputation to attract elite recruits, brands, and engage the fan base through authentic storytelling with an eye toward player acquisition and revenue generation. Responsibilities Recruiting Strategy: Conceptualize and produce high-end graphics for recruits, including personalized social media templates, mailers, official visit signage, and digital presentations. Brand and Fan Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders on major tent pole events in the sales calendar to conceptualize and produce high end content to drive attendance, fan engagement and brand advancement. Brand & Content Management: In partnership with key internal stakeholders, establish and maintain the program's visual brand standards across all digital and print platforms and the team’s social media accounts to ensure a consistent narrative and high engagement. Content Production: Overseeing cinematic video, photography, and graphic design for game days, practices, and "behind-the-scenes" features. Required to create content at times. Strategic Planning: Developing content calendars that align with recruiting cycles and marketing goals. Ability to drive and execute plans and gain alignment with leadership. Personnel Management: Leading a team of full-time staff, student interns, or creative assistants. Creating a consistent student bench. Required Qualifications Thorough knowledge of program activity and best practices. Problem-solving skills; multi-task, work with frequent interruptions, and effective listener. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties. High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator) and experience with high-end camera systems. 3 to 5+ years of professional experience in sports creative services, specifically at the NCAA Division I or professional level. A thorough understanding of NCAA rules regarding recruiting and social media interaction and an understanding of MMR, licensing and can quickly learn other departmental regulations. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Problem-solving skills; multi-task, work with frequent interruptions, and effective listener. A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Communications, or a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
