The Director of Development contributes to the university’s fundraising success as both a frontline fundraiser and a manager of key advancement programs . Primary responsibilities include: management of a portfolio of 50-70 leadership and major gift prospects; effective support of Annual Giving programs; management of the Advancement team’s social media accounts and, fundraising coordination with athletics.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a portfolio of 50--70 key prospects (individuals and organizations) capable of making gifts at least in the $ 2,500/year range, with a significant subset being capable of multi-year pledges in the $ 50K+ range, effectively moving these prospects through solicitation pipeline stages of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Work closely with VPUA and Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement to build and maintain a strong donor recognition and stewardship program for high-end Pierce Annual Fund donors (currently $ 1K+).
Play lead role in developing on-line fundraising tools for Day of Giving and similar initiatives.
Collaborate with Director of Athletic Fundraising and Sponsorships to provide Athletics with the tools required to maximize fundraising revenue while following Advancement Office guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in a complex organization with strong organizational, operations management and analytical skills.
Experience in fundraising or comparable discipline such as sales required.
Experience in higher education highly desired.
Proficiency with relational databases preferred.
Strong organizational skills with emphasis on detail and follow-up.
Must be highly motivated and solution-oriented, with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the university.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
Must successfully complete criminal background check, credit, and motor vehicle check.
Have ability to travel nationally and locally on behalf of the University; must possess a valid driver's license.
