The Director of Development Operations is a full-time position reporting directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development. The Director of Development Operations will play an integral role in overseeing the operational and administrative activities that support the athletic department’s fundraising goals. In particular, this position will work closely with and provide direct administrative support to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Athletics.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by employment start date
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project/office management role which may include customer-facing roles such as sales, marketing, non-profit management, or development.
A demonstrated ability to engage and effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
Must have a valid driver’s license, the ability to obtain a driver’s license, or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a project/office management role which may include customer-facing roles such as sales, marketing, non-profit management, or development.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and knowledge in design
Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work to maximize productivity, and response effectively to change and constructive feedback.
Ability to problem solve and exercise initiative, independent judgement, self- motivation, and discretion.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to meeting project deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and an affinity for learning new technology

- Manage development operations to enhance the fundraising activities in the Ram Club.
- Implement and maintain processes to support frontline fundraisers, the athletic director, and coaches in their donor interactions (write briefs, prepare materials, develop presentations, support proposal creation, new fund paperwork, gift and gift-in-kind transmittals, letters of intent, pledge forms, travel reports, and schedule meetings).
- Proficiency in the CRM system. Input as well as compile and analyze data and information from the CRM donor database.
- Create donor profiles as needed to guide development staff, dean, and faculty members with their interactions with donors and prospects.
- Provides support to various parts of the team from event support to annual giving support to stewardship execution. Will need to be up to speed on ticket related policies/information. Help support the data integration between databases.
- Oversee integrity of donor data and gift fund management (create new funds; create and track fund agreements; create and track proposals; enter contact reports; handle all ad-hoc report requests; handle appeal code requests; and manage Ram Club pipeline information in the database).
- Ensure accurate processing of donor gifts in adherence with donor intent and University Advancement and Colorado State University Foundation policies AND manage the donor acknowledgement process.
- Facilitate the CSU naming process for donors in the Ram Club.
- Interpret University Advancement policies to faculty and staff within the academic units and centers, and support them in adhering to guidelines and best practices. Considers the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in processes, procedures, communications, materials, and interactions.

- Oversee development operations to empower athletic director and development team to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni and other major gift ($25,000+) donors. Responsible for understanding and executing the Donor Bill of Rights, and maintaining positive donor relationships and confidentiality.
- Manage gift acknowledgement process (create thank you letters, weekly gift reports, and customized donor communications; track mailings).
- Assist with departmental advisory committees as needed.
- Recommend strategic actions to senior leadership by pulling reports, creating presentations, and overseeing travel schedules to support the university and unit fundraising priorities.
- Draft strong, clearly written communications (email and written correspondence, contact reports, etc.) to ensure flow of information is recorded accurately in CRM database.
- Oversee the creation and management of online giving pages and other fundraising appeals and webpages.
- Compile lists of donors and alumni for use by academic units for mail and email communications, event invitations, and solicitations.
- Execute special projects as needed to support meaningful donor engagement (events, gifts, web and newsletter stories, online giving pages, etc.)
- Act as a liaison to departmental units, providing training and best practices for their own acknowledgements.
- Successfully interact and work with a diverse range of colleagues and alumni by demonstrating a commitment to inclusive interactions and environments. Examine how communications, processes, reporting, and projects can be more inclusive.

- Support the administrative activities for the Ram Club Development team (take meeting minutes, plan travel, create agendas, support events, office management, etc.); provide direct administrative support to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.
- Coordinate and set up meetings, create briefings and background materials (bios, overview reports, etc.) for Ram Club development team, leadership, coaches.
- Oversee daily office functions such as office supplies or phone responsibilities.
- Process team expense receipts and travel reimbursements.
- Compile weekly gift reports and communicate findings to Ram Club development team. Manage timelines and responsibilities for several different projects while utilizing a strong attention to detail.
- Consider how team processes and portfolios remain committed to representing donors of all backgrounds.
