Director of Esports

Ripon College is accepting applications for the position of Director of Esports. This full-time position reports to the Director of Athletics. The Esports Director will serve as the College’s inaugural coach and recruiter. The Director’s primary role is the overall recruitment and retention of students who will fill the varsity Esports roster. The Director must focus not only on the development of the Esports program but recognize and emphasize academic excellence in the classroom. The Director must become proficient with the use of Slate and ARI, the College’s recruiting software. The final candidate must successfully complete a background check, and have a valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree
• Required: strong knowledge of online gaming across multiple platforms
• Minimum of three years of competitive gaming experience
• Coaching experience at the college level preferred
• Excellent Interpersonal, Organizational, Planning and Leadership Skills
• Be able to show the capacity to mentor and serve as a positive role model

• Promote the academic success of student-athletes to include monitoring the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements are met

Responsibilities

• Recruit and grow a varsity Esports roster
• Promote the academic success of student-athletes to include monitoring the academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements are met
• Instruction of players both individually and in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, and technology of the Esports
• Operate within the budget to meet the team’s needs
• Scheduling of competitions and practices
• Ability to identify for purchase, manage, and maintain all hardware, software, and other equipment along with the campus IT department
• Maintaining a clean and safe Esports lab
• Create and maintain social media channels sharing information about team, players, and matches
