The Director of Events and Stewardship is responsible for the comprehensive planning, execution, and evaluation of Championship Fund events that support all Marshall Athletics sport programs, and This position plays a key role in advancing the Big Green through fundraising, donor cultivation, and stewardship objectives by delivering high-quality event experiences aligned with institutional and coaching priorities.
This position works closely with head coaches, athletics leadership, development officers, and external partners to strategically leverage events as a tool for revenue generation, donor engagement, and long-term relationship building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all Championship Fund and special events across all sports, including fundraising, cultivation, stewardship, and recognition events.
• Conduct regular planning meetings to determine objectives, priorities and event strategies to meet fundraising goals and sport specific needs. • Develop event calendars in collaboration with athletics leadership and external partners to ensure balanced scheduling and maximum impact.
Assist in the weekly game operations calls / meetings representing Big Green • Utilize events as a strategic fundraising vehicle supporting annual fund, major gift, and donor engagement objectives. • Communicate events to targeted donor groups in coordination with development staff. • Establish and maintain a structured evaluation process for all events and any KPI’s that are in place, as well reporting on event performance metrics to athletic leadership. • Oversee event logistics, budgets, vendor relationships, timelines, and execution. • Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA policies.
