The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking a Director of Facility Operations responsible for the comprehensive oversight of day-to-day athletic facilities operations. This position provides leadership for facilities maintenance, custodial services, project planning, and staff development while ensuring compliance with all Departmental, University, SEC, and NCAA rules and regulations. The role supports the Department’s commitment to sustained excellence through high-quality facilities, efficient operations, and continuous improvement.

1. Facility Operations and Maintenance Oversight (30%)
• Oversee daily operations of all assigned athletic facilities to ensure safe, functional, and high-quality environments.

Key Responsibilities
1. Facility Operations and Maintenance Oversight (30%)
• Oversee daily operations of all assigned athletic facilities to ensure safe, functional, and high-quality environments.
• Ensure facilities meet appearance, cleanliness, and operational standards.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, certified, and available for use.
• Coordinate custodial and maintenance schedules to support practices, competitions, and departmental needs.
2. Staff Leadership, Supervision and Development (20%)
• Provide supervision of full-time and part-time facilities staff, including event day and changeover personnel.
• Develop workforce and staffing initiatives to ensure adequate coverage and professional execution of responsibilities.
• Evaluate staff performance and support training aligned with professional and industry standards.
3. Event Operations and Changeover Management (20%)
• Plan and execute facility operations for athletic and external events, including setup, breakdown, and changeovers.
• Supervise facilities staff during competitions and special events.
• Develop detailed plans and layout as needed for events.
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure seamless event execution.
4. Project Planning and Communication (15%)
• Plan, track, prioritize, and manage facility-related projects.
• Communicate project timelines, impacts, and progress with internal departments.
• Coordinate with campus partners, vendors, and contractors as needed.
• Support capital and non-capital improvement initiatives.
5. Compliance, Standards and Professional Representation (10%)
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of professional, industry, and regulatory standards applicable to athletic facilities.
• Ensure compliance with all University, SEC, NCAA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Represent the Department of Athletics in internal and external meetings and communications related to facilities operations.
• Support risk management and safety initiatives across all facilities.
6. Continuous Improvement and Strategic Initiatives (5%)
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, effectiveness, and service quality.
• Identify opportunities for operational enhancements, cost savings, and best-practice implementation.
• Support long-term facilities planning and departmental strategic goals.
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights and Weekends, as required by events
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Prior experience in College Athletics Facility Operations is preferred.
Salary Range: $53,000 - $65,000/year
Grade: GGS-10
