The Director of Football Recruiting Strategy and Events is a support role for one of the most critical areas of the entire football operations, recruitment of student-athletes. Due to the maintain very confidential nature of student-athlete recruiting, the incumbent is in a highly sensitive position and must be able to trust of the entire coaching staff. The incumbent is exposed daily to information of a highly confidential nature and must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism.
75% Direct oversight with administrative duties for official and unofficial recruiting visits, including travel arrangements, accommodations, meals, tours, compliance documentation and expense reports; assists with administrative duties for all special events associated with recruiting, including pregame and postgame parties, dinners, banquets and social events for official visits, etc.; assists in managing the recruiting database. The information on recruits must be thoroughly analyzed to provide date for the Director of Recruiting to disseminate to the coaching staff as they plan for visits. Collects statistical data on recruits and continually updates computerized reports. It is vitally important that such information be current and completely accurate. Thisinformation helps to ensure compliance with NCAA regulations and determines the effectiveness of recruiting methods; assists with administrative duties in the development of a former student-athlete (alumni) database and activities to involve LSU student-athletes alumni with the LSU Athletic Department.
20% Coordinating the Compliance efforts of the Football recruiting database. Responsible for all logging for data entry of all countable coaches’ telephone calls; evaluation and contacts, and official and unofficial visit documentation. Handles all purchasing for the football recruiting office, including invoice approval for payment. Assist in managing recruiting board and prospect strategy to fill the needs of the team based on depth chart and eligibility; Manages recruiting strategy for creatives and mailers for prospective student-athletes.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with three years experience in a collegiate or professional athletics department; Knowledge and commitment to NCAA rules and regulations; Knowledge of Windows based computer programs.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Ability and willingness to work extended days and weekends, Travel is required.
