Summary of Position

The Director of Hockey Operations at the University of New Hampshire plays a critical role in the administration and management of the men’s hockey program within the highly competitive Hockey East conference. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of

regulations and conference policies.

Supports 4 coaches, 29 student-athletes, 8 staff members.

Season consists of 34 regular season games and additional pre- and post-season contests.

| Duty/Responsibility |
Team Administration:

• Coordinate all administrative functions related to the men’s hockey program, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and budget management.
• Maintain competency with respect to knowledge of all NCAA rules, ensure compliance of NCAA regulations and report to the Director of Athletics and/or Sport Administrator knowledge of any violation of NCAA, conference, or institutional rules.
• Coordinate and organize all logistics and budgeting pertaining to summer school.
• Budget and implement a plan for winter and spring break, including but not limited to housing, meals, and per diem.
• Work with UNH Men’s Hockey equipment manager to ensure distribution, inventory, and relevant equipment and supply needs are met.
• Manage UNH Men’s Hockey program budget, including but not limited to rate negotiations, billing, invoicing, and reconciliation. Submit all travel reimbursements. Participate with Head Coach in the annual budgeting process, review monthly expenditures for accuracy and adhere to USNH guidelines.
• Serve as liaison to UNH Athletics external team for marketing and promotions-related initiatives. Provide input on the design of promotional materials and assist with securing student-athletes for the purposes of promotion of the UNH Men’s Hockey program.
• Serve as the liaison with Bauer and NIKE/BSN as well as other vendors for equipment supplies and apparel orders. |

| Duty/Responsibility |
Game Day Preparation/Operations:

• Oversee all logistical aspects of home and away games.
• Work with visiting teams to coordinate arrival time and needs, including locker room set-up and laundry.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations during games and practices.
• Travel with UNH Men’s Hockey for all away competitions, both regular and post-season.
• Coordinate itineraries, secure lodging and meals, and arrange practice schedules. Coordinate travel routes and rooming lists and manage team complimentary team ticket lists.
• Assist in the stewardship of all NHL scouts and player development personnel while they are on campus.
• Work in conjunction with Athletics development ensuring that all donors and special guests are accommodated.
• Coordinate and host Senior Night |

| Duty/Responsibility |
- Oversight of Equipment budget and inventory - Oversight of daily video needs including personnel as well as gameday and practice setup. - Supervise hiring and management of all student support staff and managers. - Coordinate maintenance and annual upgrades for team facilities. - Represent the program as a liaison for capital projects and renovations. - Coordinate with marketing and promotions staff to increase visibility and support for the men’s hockey program. - Help organize and oversee summer camps and showcases. - Assist the Head Coach with all fundraising initiatives including but not limited to management of the (603) Challenge, Mentor Night and the UNH Men’s Hockey Golf Tournament. The UNH Men’s Hockey Golf Tournament responsibilities include securing a golf course, registration, marketing materials and sponsorship solicitation. - Organization of annual “Alumni Night” inclusive of planning and coordinating with Athletics Development and External Operations. - Responsible for coordination of all video requirements as set forth by Hockey East. This includes but is not limited to the day-to-day management and nightly maintenance and server space management of Catapult Thunder video software , Sport Logic, and Instat. - Summer camp responsibilities include but are not limited to day camp meals, pool passes, camp equipment ordering (e.g., t-shirts), and working toward the continued success of the UNH Men’s Hockey camp. |

Recruiting Support: Support Coaching staff in all aspects of recruiting visits both official and unofficial.

• Manage communication with recruits and their families, arranging campus visits, and providing information on academic and athletic opportunities.
• Help all committed student athletes and transfer students navigate the application and admissions process in conjunction with UNH Admissions and UNH Athletics Academic Support staff.
• Work with incoming and current student athletes and UNH OISS office to ensuring compliance with federal visa requirements. |

Student-Athlete Development:

• Collaborate with coaching staff on player development initiatives, including on-ice training, strength and conditioning programs, and academic support services.
• Coordinate with academic advisors to monitor student-athletes’ progress toward degree requirements and assist the academic support staff as needed in the coordination of tutoring and internships.
• Coordinate incoming freshman and transfer needs including but not limited to housing and academic compliance.
• Responsible for planning team awards banquet including securing date, venue, menu, program, invitations, awards, and communication.
• Coordinate all meals and nutritional planning with the athletic trainers and strength and conditioning staff. |
