Position Overview
Clinton College is seeking a dynamic, new Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Integrated
Sports serves as the chief administrative officer for the College’s athletic programs and sports
integration initiatives. Reporting directly to the President, the Director provides visionary and
strategic leadership for all athletic operations, ensuring alignment with the College’s mission,
strategic priorities, and commitment to holistic student development through athletics, wellness,
and community engagement.

strategic priorities, and commitment to holistic student development through athletics, wellness,
and community engagement.
The Director oversees all intercollegiate sports programs, recreational and intramural activities,
and strategic partnerships that advance athletic excellence, academic success, and institutional
visibility. This role integrates athletics within the College’s academic and co-curricular
ecosystem, supporting student-athletes as scholars, competitors, and leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Administration
•
Provide strategic direction and day-to-day management of all athletic programs, coaches,
and staff.
Develop and implement short- and long-term goals consistent with the College’s Mission
and Vision.
Lead the department’s organizational, operational, and financial management, including
budgeting, compliance, and fundraising.
Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet and provide regular reports and updates to
the President and Board of Trustees.
Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, accountability, and sportsmanship across all
programs.

Compliance and Governance
•
Ensure full compliance with all governing bodies, including conference and acrreditation
standards, as well as institutional policies.
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting on eligibility, scholarships, recruitment, and roster
management.

Oversee risk management, Title IX compliance, and student-athlete welfare.

Athletic and Student Development
•
Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Enrollment Management to
enhance student-athlete retention, graduation, and leadership development.
Develop robust wellness, fitness, and intramural programs for the general student body
and community.
Champion initiatives that integrate athletics into the academic and co-curricular life of the
College, emphasizing the balance of mind, body, and spirit.
External Relations and Advancement
•
Serve as the public face of Clinton College Athletics at campus, community, and
conference events.
Partner with Institutional Advancement to secure sponsorships, donor support, and
corporate partnerships.
Promote athletics as a key pillar of institutional branding, enrollment growth, and
community engagement.
Collaborate with local schools, recreation departments, and organizations to expand
community-based athletic programs.
Facilities and Operations
•
Oversee athletic facilities, including scheduling, maintenance, safety, and capital
improvement planning.
Contribute to master planning efforts for new athletic and wellness facilities.

• Manage game-day operations and ensure quality experiences for athletes, spectators, and
visitors.
Qualifications
Required:
• Minimum of Master’s degree in Athletic Administration, Sports Management, Education,
or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in athletic

administration at the collegiate level.
Demonstrated success in program development, budget management, compliance, and
fundraising.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a record of collaborative
engagement across campus divisions.
Preferred:

Experience with NCAA Division II athletics and conference transitions.
Background in student development, wellness programming, and integrated campus
recreation.
Proven experience in strategic planning, branding, and public-private partnerships for
athletic facilities.
