The overall purpose of this position is to lead the marketing efforts for Tennessee Tech Athletics. The position is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing strategy, fan engagement, and revenue generation initiatives to support Tennessee Tech Athletics. This individual will lead the marketing and fan experience initiatives to create engaging experiences for students, alumni and fans to include leading the development of marketing and promotional plans and game production timing and scripting, in coordination with coaching staff and external units, to meet or exceed their objectives. This individual works to enhance the Golden Eagle Athletics brand, drive attendance and ticket sales, create meaningful community engagement opportunities, and develop innovative fan experiences that contribute to the department’s overall success. This position will demonstrate competency in establishing relationships with key stakeholders and serve as the primary liaison between the athletics department and various publics, including media, alumni, digital followers, student-athletes, fans, corporate partners and sponsors, community at-large, and the university community. This role requires collaborative work and sport-specific media plan leadership across the department, including coaches, senior leaders and campus entities.

This position requires a great deal of mobility and some physical exertion. While the day-to-day operations are based in the office, the person in this position travels with some of the teams and moves operations to a variety of venues, both on-campus and off-campus. This includes working from press box and press row areas, sometimes located high above the venue. Some of the facilities do not have any kind of access other than stairs to the top of the stadium or arena. At some home events, for instance, this position works on the floor of the arena and also monitors video equipment located near the top of the arena, requiring several trips up-and-down the stairways and sometimes in a great deal of hurry. This position also carries quite a bit of equipment to-and-from each venue's workspace, such as copies, fax machines, printers and laptops and other work materials.

Commensurate with education and experience. Level P3, Grade 12.
