Responsibilities: Include the oversight of administrative tasks associated with the operations of an efficient Division I men’s’ basketball program. This position will report directly to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and will be the primary liaison with various athletic department staff members. The Director will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating team travel (including creating itineraries, making arrangements for lodging, meals, transportation and coordinating meeting space), practices (home and away), coordinating summer camps, summer access, and ticket requests. The Director of Basketball Operations will be responsible for building and maintaining the men’s basketball budget for team travel and equipment. The position will also serve as staff liaison to the Equipment Room with equipment purchases and disbursements and assist with facility set-up and tear-down on game day and as needed. This position will also act as a liaison with community outreach programs, coordinating public relations, planning and monitoring special events and projects, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of the sport of basketball and familiar with all aspects of administering a basketball program. Experience and/or knowledge of the Athletic Department Equipment room are helpful. The selected candidate must have knowledge of
NCAA
rules and regulations. Working knowledge of computer systems and various film editing and recruiting software is desired.
