The Athletics Office at Whittier College is seeking a Director of Operations and Game Management.

The Director of Operations and Game Management is responsible for developing, planning, and organizing programs for maintaining and purchasing athletic equipment for all College sport teams. They will also collaborate with the Associate Athletic Director in all aspects of operational planning and management of home events and special events sponsored by Athletics and is responsible in executing successful game-day initiatives. This position is a leadership position within the department and will be expected to make independent, impactful decisions for the department while improving the student-athlete experience.

Hours: Monday – Friday
Exempt Status: Non-exempt
Full Time/Part Time status: full time
Salary Range: $48,966 annually ; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for monitoring and managing all Athletic team budgets.
• Monitors issuance of uniforms to teams, coaches, or individual athletes; maintains accurate records and files regarding equipment check-out for all athletic teams.
• Maintains relationships with vendors and reps to monitor process of ordering and receiving equipment as well as making sure invoices get closed.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for monitoring and managing all Athletic team budgets.

• Maintains relationships with vendors and reps to monitor process of ordering and receiving equipment as well as making sure invoices get closed.
• Oversees the collection and accounting for all team “Spirit Gear” packages
• Monitors daily maintenance of equipment, which includes laundering, repair, and general upkeep of equipment.
• Provides for adequate storage of all athletic equipment.
• Oversees daily fitting and adjustment of gear.
• Oversees laundry and locker room maintenance; washes soiled uniforms and other supplies or arranges to have supplies laundered.
• Coordinates the preparation and clean-up of all facilities for intercollegiate athletic team practices and contests.
• Serves as the designated event administrator for all Whittier College athletics home events, or assist the Senior Associate in securing another athletics staff member to fill that role when there are conflicting events.
• Responsible for recruiting, hiring and supervising game workers for all athletic events excluding football.
• Coordinates student workers in performance of athletic equipment maintenance duties.
• Works cooperatively with staff in the athletics department, attends department meetings and activities, and always represents the college positively when interacting with the community.
• Schedule all GAC facility uses.
• Resolving scheduling conflicts within teams and facilities.
• Responsible for the coordination of all aspects related to the All-Sports Awards Banquet.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment.
• Inspects supplies in stock to detect those requiring repair or cleaning
• Inventories, stores and packs sporting equipment appropriately when not in use.
• Required to inspect all facilities on a weekly basis and request facilities repair if needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
