| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible experience in development and fundraising, preferably with several years of experience in a collegiate/university setting.
- Transferable skill sets will be taken into consideration.
- Demonstrated success in obtaining gifts of $25,000 and above and/or closing a series of major gifts within a fiscal year.
- Experience working with fundraising volunteers.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with high capacity donors and prospects, corporate executives, and foundation officers.
- Thorough knowledge of the major gifts fundraising process and an understanding of planned giving.
- Knowledge of the computer and databases and their application to development and fundraising activities.
- Requirements could include evening meetings, special event attendance and/or travel.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.

- Master’s degree.
- Certified Fund Raising Executive and campaign experience preferred.
- Knowledge or experience fundraising in the areas of Teacher Education, Human Resource Development, Counseling and/or Leadership desired.

| Position Purpose |
Oversee and conduct major gift fundraising for the Department of Athletics. Serve as a major/planned giving officer reporting to the Associate VP for Philanthropy and works closely with the Athletic Director, athletics department coaches and staff. Manages the fundraising process for an assigned portfolio of prospects and donors and conducts activities leading to gifts of $25,000 and above.
