Position Summary:

The Director of Player Development / Recruiting will serve as a crucial support system to the baseball coaching staff and student athletes. This individual will act as the primary liaison between the team and various departments including analytics, strength and conditioning, athletic training, and student managers. Additionally, the Assistant Coach will assist in developing practice plans, scouting, and game planning under the guidance of the head baseball coach. The ideal candidate will possess collegiate and/or professional playing experience along with coaching and/or instructing expertise.

Workplace Requirements:

This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person on campus during both regular office hours, mornings, nights, and weekends as team schedule requires. This position will require regular travel. PerRice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.

Proposed Hiring Range : Commensurate based on education and experience. Minimum starting salary at $48,700

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• One or more (1+) years in baseball coaching or instruction.

Skills

• Proficiency in utilizing motion capture technology, force plates, high- speed cameras, Trackman, and Rapsodo for data analysis and player development.
• Demonstrated experience in scouting and game planning to optimize team performance.
• Proven track record of working with college hitters both offensively and defensively to enhance their skills.

Preferences:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
• Experience with Scouting and Recruitment
• Collegiate and/or professional baseball playing experience
• Division 1 coaching experience

Essential Functions:

• Serve as the team liaison with the analytics team, strength and conditioning staff, athletic training, and student managers.
• Assist in team operations, specifically in the pitching and hitting labs by overseeing data collection, processing, and report generation.
• Collaborate in the development of practice plans as assigned by the head coach.
• Contribute to game planning efforts to enhance team strategy and performance.
• Organize and maintain a comprehensive database for prospective student athletes to streamline recruitment efforts.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
