About the Job
Job Description

Welcome to Stanford’s Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (“DAPER”), the premier intercollegiate athletics program in the country. With an unparalleled record of 137 NCAA team championships, we are the proud Home of Champions. Our success isn’t just measured in trophies; it’s reflected in the passion of our nearly 900 student-athletes competing across 36 intercollegiate varsity teams. It resonates in our unwavering support for the university’s physical education, recreation, and wellness initiatives. At Stanford, we don’t just embrace excellence; we define it. We don’t just nurture champions; we create them. Our actions are guided by the core tenets of DAPER culture, “The DAPER Way,” which are: Embrace Scholar Athleticism, Pursue and Revere Excellence, Lead with Courage, and Work Cohesively.

Are you ready to inspire champions? If yes, then this may be the right opportunity for you!

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Recruiting Strategy & High School Personnel. This position will report to the Associate General Manager, Football. This position will oversee Stanford’s high school recruiting strategy, including evaluation coordinator, offer management, and recruiting calendar planning. This role defines how we identify and prioritize high school talent, and works hand-in-hand with Player Personnel and On-Campus Recruiting to execute effectively. This is an on-site, one-year fixed-term position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead all high school recruiting operations—from prospect identification through off-site visits and relationship ownership.

  • Build and manage the master high school recruiting board, in coordination with position coaches and analysts.

  • Oversee evaluation workflow and ensure alignment with Player Personnel rankings.

  • Assign relationship ownership across staff for each key prospect and ensure consistent follow-up.

  • Develop strategy for area recruiting, optimizing travel and relationship coverage to reduce inefficiency.

  • Plan and manage January and May recruiting travel schedules for staff.

  • Partner closely with the Director of On-Campus Recruiting and Football Events on visit planning and prospect experience.

  • Track recruiting analytics and produce updates for staff and GM.

  • Support the Head Coach and GM in developing long-term high school recruiting pipelines aligned with Stanford’s academic and cultural standards.
