Target hiring range for this position will be between $70,000-$80,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
The Director of Scouting reports directly to the General Manager of Roster Development and Retention. The Director of Scouting is responsible for managing and coordinating all evaluations for the football program.

Specific Responsibilities :
· Identify evaluate and collect data and video on prospects to provide direction to the coaching staff through available and permissible sources.
· Oversee evaluation procedures, protocols, and overall operation of evaluating prospects.
· Oversee a team of Scouting/Recruiting Analysts
· Assist the General Manager of Roster Development and Retention with all aspects of the recruiting Operation.
· Manage and updated recruiting boards.
· Oversee creation of daily watch lists for coaching staff.
· Coordinate with all members of the football staff to create the best and the most efficient scouting operation.
· Ensure all prospects are going through the proper evaluation steps as it pertains to each staff member.
· In conjunction with the Director of Football Operations oversee the Facebook accounts for the coaching staff and Head Coach.
· Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
· Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.
Miscellaneous
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
· Previous management experience
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
· Significant experience in high school, college or professional football
· Maintenance of CPR, AED and First Aid training
· Ability to work cooperatively with others and effectively interact with diverse populations.
· Ability to establish engaging relationships within and across racialized and other marginalized communities
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master's degree preferred
Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
· Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
