McPherson College is seeking a Director of Spirit Programs with the proven ability to manage a successful program and join a dynamic athletic culture where coaches and student athletes strive for an excellent student athletic experience. This position reports to the college’s Athletic Director.
This is a full-time, exempt 12-month position with full college benefits including a substantial retirement benefit after one year of employment as well as a full tuition remission after two years of employment. McPherson College is a nationally recognized institution as a great college to work at for 8 consecutive years.
This individual will be responsible for daily management, instruction and administration of all phases of the Spirit program in accordance with all NAIA and College regulations. Specific areas of responsibility includes instructing on practice, game preparation and strategy; assistant coach and support staff supervision; recruitment of prospective student-athletes; retention of student-athletes, monitoring the academic progress of the Cheer and Dance student athletes; preparation and oversight of budget; community outreach; and program specific and departmental fundraising.
The successful candidate must possess and will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, strong work ethic and self-motivation, the ability and willingness to be a positive role model, department member and representative of the college.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred; three years of collegiate coaching experience required.
