The University of South Dakota is seeking a
Director of Sport Performance & Nutrition
for Football to join our dynamic athletic team and help shape the future of student-athlete excellence.
The Director of Sport Performance & Nutrition will assist the Head Football Coach in developing and implementing a holistic student-athlete performance program. This role combines leadership in strength and conditioning, nutrition planning, athletic training coordination, and game day preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Sport Performance Leadership:
Direct all aspects of strength, speed, conditioning, agility, recovery, and healthy habits for the football program.
Supervise and collaborate with the Assistant Director of Sport Performance for football.
Design and implement cutting-edge strategies to maximize team and individual performance.
Tier 1 Nutrition Oversight:
Develop custom meal plans for players and coordinate team nutrition planning year-round.
Serve as the liaison between
USD
Athletics and Sodexo (or comparable partners) for nutrition needs.
Collaborate with Sanford Health dieticians to deliver tailored educational and nutritional support.
Athletic Training Collaboration:
Act as the communication bridge between athletic trainers and football staff to address athlete needs and limitations.
Partner with the head football athletic trainer to develop individualized activities for athletes with physical restrictions.
Game Day Preparation:
Design and implement pre-game and halftime physical preparation plans.
Oversee all gameday nutrition and assist with sideline organization.
