Position Summary

As a Christian university, Olivet Nazarene University exists to provide an education with a Christian purpose. We value diversity as a means to enrich and deepen the educational experience, both inside and outside the classroom and online. We are committed to recruit and retain mission-aligned faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. We strive to be a more inclusive community as we seek to understand and celebrate our unique experiences and perspectives.

The Sports Information Director oversees all statistical and media relations aspects of the intercollegiate athletic program, including home event management along with the Athletic Director and chosen staff. This position also supervises and coordinates staff and students to assist with the sports information department.
Olivet is a distinctly Nazarene institution of higher education and committed to the discipleship of our students within the Wesleyan-holiness tradition. Ideal Student Development team members are committed to the Lordship of Christ, seek personal growth through regular practice of spiritual disciplines, and create learning environments where students are compelled to be more like Christ each day.

  2. Produce athletic publications: game notes, brochures, special events, media guides, and others as assigned.
  3. Report post-game results to necessary outlets and people.
  4. Maintain the athletic department website: rosters, player and coach bios, stats, records, photos, stories, and any other necessary updates.
  5. Schedule, train, and supervise all event workers that report to the SID, including press box and scorer’s table personnel for each sport.
  6. Manage the SID office by coordinating workers to assist with the various duties of the sports information department.
  7. Promote athletic achievements with the NAIA, CCAC, KCAC, CSC, and other necessary organizations.
  8. Maintain statistical records: both current and historical.
