Limestone University invites applications for the full-time position of Director of Sports Information.
The Director of Sports Information has the responsibility for the overall operation of the athletic department communication, statistical information, digital broadcast, and media relations in accordance with Limestone University, South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas Conference and National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) regulations. The Director of Sports Information must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing comprehensive statistical and communicative information to all necessary parties.
Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee an integrated communications strategy that promotes our 25 varsity athletic team offerings consistent with the goals, values, and mission of the Athletics Department and with the strategic communications objectives of Limestone University
Oversee day-to-day communications operations of the Athletics Department including writing, editing, and distributing press releases, game programs, and game notes, and operating computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PhotoShop, InDesign, Stats, Sidearm Sports, FloSports & Production Truck, and other video/photographical software
Keep in-game statistics; maintain accurate sport-specific statistics, results, and historical records; oversee the conference, regional, and national athletics award nomination processes; and report all conference- and NCAA-required statistics
Maintain athletics website (Sidearm experience preferred) with timely and accurate information, which includes news releases, recaps, previews, schedules/results, rosters, etc.
Assist with the writing and distribution of press releases including compiling, writing, and nominating athletes for the conference awards
When necessary, serve as the on-site media relations professional, supervising student workers and serving as a media liaison
Work with senior leadership on special projects, such as the Athletics Hall of Fame, Athletics Awards Ceremony, and other department specific events
Responsible for streaming all home contests, providing training and preparation for broadcasters, and hiring student workers
Manage sports information budget, and hire, train, and manage athletics communication staff (including work-study students)

Create promotional items for each program and maintain social media accounts for the athletic department
Oversee content creation for social & digital media
Work closely with Limestone University’s Office of Marketing & Communications
Other duties as assigned by the VP of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Office of the President
Requirements- Abachelor’s degree in a related field is required for this position along with a preferred one to three years of media relations experience. Candidates will have a commitment to adhering to all rules and regulations of Limestone University, South Atlantic Conference, and the NCAA.The selected candidate must be willing to consent to and pass, with satisfactory results, an investigative consumer report.
