Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area and seven (7) years of appropriate experience; and a
NATA
Certification.
OR
Master’s Degree in relevant area and five (5) years of appropriate experience; and a
NATA
Certification.
Relevant experience may substitute for required education.
Candidates must be
CPR
/
AED
/First Aid certified,
BOC
certified, and licensed in the state of Tennessee.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
The department is especially interested in candidates with a Master’s degree and experience in a Division I setting.
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Job Duties
| Duties & Responsibilities |
Performs Injury and Illness prevention, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation. Provides first aid and emergency care coverage during practices, games, training sessions, and travel. Designs and Performs rehabilitation exercise programs for injured athletes. Applies preventative taping and/or bracing to prevent or protect against athletic injuries. Administers therapeutic modality treatments on injured athletes. Ensure athlete medical forms, waivers, and injury documentation are up to date while maintaining privacy and professional guidelines. Coordinates Team Physicians care for injured or ill athletes.

Utlize knowledge and expertise to educate participants and manage risk for safe performance and function. Inform coaches, student athletes and administration on safe practice policies and procedures. Employ standard care procedures and communicate outcomes for efficient and appropriate care of injured student athletes with supervisor, coaches, and other medical staff where appropriate. Coordinate student athlete transportation to various doctor appointments, treatment facilities and classes as needed. Evaluates, coordinates and ensure appropriate education and treatment for nutritional and mental health needs of student athletes.

Stays current in the athletic training field through continuing education classes and industry-specific publications. Must maintain BOC certification, State of Tennessee Licensure and CPR/AED certification.
